Chaos reigns as a gigantic, unknown spirit descends upon Aftzaak. It soon becomes clear that the creature does not act of its own accord, thanks to an artifact whose very existence is forbidden: the Loop of Servitude. The Central Library—consumed by the thought of any attack on the creature turning into a religious calamity—finds itself at a standstill.
